Most of the monitors out there are "function" over form, lets be honest. The GF just got a new Mac Mini for under £400 w/8GB ram (Apple pricing mistake in Taiwan hahaha). Apart from the Apple Cinema Display which is silly money (28000NT = shitacularly expensive in TW) I'm not entirely sure what there is? Anyone come across anything nice on their internet travels? TIA!
Wow that looks fantastic. This looks shmexy Perhaps a bit more affordable http://www.trustedreviews.com/monitors/review/2008/01/24/HP-w2408h-Vivid-Color-24in-Monitor/p4
i like the looks of this sony and this asus if it was 1920x1080 i would have bought it so good looking
Aww.. I thought it was a mini jet engine. Just for the fact that you can proclaim you have one, on your monitor.
There has been a lot of interest in monitors recently (and I will soon be in the market!), any chance bit net could do a round up?
would be great until you turned it on and the monitor smashed into a load bearing wall, literally bringing down the house
only a 8800gt but am getting 460GTX which makes my rig even more point less will make sure i get a new monitor for christmas only 5 months and 1 day to go yay
I wouldn't consider most monitors to be "function over form" I have a pair of big Asus LCDs. Both of them have a glossy black bezel and a couple of buttons in the bottom right corner. That seems to be pretty much the standard layout. IMO, what makes a bigger difference is the stand. Buy a monitor with a good stand, or get a good VESA stand for it. Most LCDs I've owned have had very basic stands - no rotation (turning left to right, or switching portrait to landscale), and no height adjustment, just very basic tilt adjustment. We have Dell 22" screens at work. They have portrait/landscape rotation. They have left/right rotation. They adjust up and down, and still tilt. Most monitors have a pretty similar bezel (black, sometimes flat and sometimes glossy, with silver accents). Get a stand that looks nice and is ergonomic, that's a much better improvement.
The trouble with a nice stand is that they often cost about half the amount of a monitor Saying that, I can whole-heartedly recommend the Ergotron LX
I picked up a pair of basic desk-clamped arms, and it is so much better than the stands the monitor came with. Only paid about $20 each. They're essentially a foot long metal post that clamps to the back edge of your desk, and then there are two horizontal arms coming from it, so you can do all sorts of adjustments.
I dont know about you... but i just love Samsung's Tv's, they are of great quality image Plus the great looks of the thing (I love them since i first saw they were the first to make those hide in speakers) I use an 26'' Samsung LCD on my gaming Rig... again... Just love them
I really like the looks of my Dell U2410, granted I've seen better looking monitors and I've seen much worst. Plus I really like the touch sensitive buttons.
