I didn't enjoy alcohol much at 16, but it grows on you. This is especially true for drinks you can't down in one shot such as wine and beer. There will always be awful beer and wine but you'll find out what that tastes like soon enough
hmm well, lets see coronas pretty good, Guinness too. I like pale ale alot, coors and heiniken(to lazy to spell) are just abysmall. Sam Adams is alright. Beer = only good when cold. Warm beer is teh suck White wine is teh ****, love it. Even the cheap ones are good. Dunno about others, but a cold beer and a nice cigar is a match made in heaven.
It really doesn't have much to do with school. I'm 20, I didn't drink when I was in school, nor do I drink since having left (and have no plans to start). In my experience, it's no different in the working world. I'd say less people make a big deal out of it in the real world but it really depends on your environment. It's more your age group than anything else - the people I work with aren't college-aged (except for a few exceptions like myself) so they're really over that phase.
Dark, malty, heavy, full bodied beers are my favorites (Sam Adams Double bock, Black Lager, holiday porter, honey porter, cream stout). I pretty much drink all Sam Adams but am not limited to it. Among others that I drink frequently are: heineken (dark-light), guiness, blue moon, most magic hat, Ithica and Brooklyn brewery, bass, dos equis, and several dozens more. I do, OTOH, despise cheap beer (bud, coors, molson pabst, corona etc etc) and most IPA/HIPA's and irish reds...those are just bad business.
I felt that way when I sent through school. but that phase ended a few years back and while I still. enjoy drinking every now and then but only in small amounts. anything more just makes me tired or feel sick if i drink too much.
Every time I go to England I have GOT to try some more ale, love the taste of it proper good beer. I don't mind lager like Heineken but Carlsberg...watered down piss anyone? Marston's or something like that is good or pretty much most of the beer off the tap in the pubs in the countryside.
Taste, definitely. A cold light beer (light in character, not necessarily a 'lite' beer) on a hot day can be very refreshing as well. A friend of mine was just over from the states for a week and we popped to sainsburys and got one/two (depending on the size of the bottle) of every single they sold, which was fun. Mixing so many different types of proper beer (read 6-9%) can give one hell of a hangover though (and make your butt reek as well), but I've got some new regulars now
Haven't had alcohol since Xmas, for some reason I hate the taste of anything regarding alcohol. It used to be for the taste though, deffo.
I stick to imports as they always seemed to taste nicer than domestic beers, but then I'm not a fan of heavy ale... /me recommends Oranjeboom from Iceland(the store) at 8 tins for £5.50 lol just read the wiki and apparently its now brewed in luton...
Taste and social thing. It's usually the first drink we get when we go out in like a big tube, don't know what it's called in english though (Giraffe in french, which literally translated means 'giraf') As for my recommendation, i particularly like Two Dogs lemon beer from Australia. Unfortunately, they stopped importing it.
Well although i'm only 16 i love a cold beer anytime, just cant stand the cheap S**t. Warm ....No GOOD, disgusting. Im in to Speights, Corona , Steinlager, heniken its all good.
You sound like a chap I should be drinking with. Couldn’t of put it better. Although on a hot day + bbq a corona with lime goes down nicely
when ever i visit my dads, he usually has a box of St Peter's ale in the cellar, some of the best ale ive ever had, their whole range is seasonal, with light ales in the summer and dark ales in the winter. sadly its too expensive for me at the moment, £22 for a box of 12, majestic do it discount but you need to buy quite alot to be able to buy from them. other than St Peters i enjoy alot of the random ales we get in the local pubs. my friend bought me a bottle of something called warnknar or something like that, its alcoholic custard basically :S
I like it for the taste, I'm 22 and, having been hungover once, I have no intentions of doing that again. I enjoy Blue moon Guinness Becks (first beer I ever had was becks, I thought it was the wost thing ever, but now its great) and I enjoy a mikes hard berry from time to time. I have never had the likes of coors or budwiser ever. period.
Will do, Boss. I love seafood too so it won't be too hard to shove them together. Man, I could go for some Moules Marineres right now....
