Well, yesterday my net started ****ing up a bit, just dying and such. It was happening every few hours but then last night, while I was playing BF2 with a clan mate, it started dying every few minutes. I'd no sooner get connected again and it'd disconnect again.

Well, I decided to do some troubleshooting. I've just LAN'd myself up to my modem, without the router. And... my net's working.

So wtf is wrong with my router? Auto-updating of Firmware is enabled, but the firmware is still the same as the original. All settings are the exact same. Usually the only reason my router dies is because of heat, but it was cold as yesterday, no where near as hot as it has been around here lately.

    Any ideas?

Since my modem requires login settings to be on the router, I had to chuck a user/pass on the modem in order for me to connect to the Internet. And ever since then, I've been unable to get back into my modem's online config settings. So...wtf?

EDIT: Well, it seems the auto-updating of firmware feature doesn't work, because there IS a new firmware version, released on the 17th of January. Gonna download it now and see if it does anything. I doubt it though. :/

EDIT2: I've updated the firmware, but it hasn't made a difference. The router has a lifetime warranty anyway, so I'm just going to take it down now and see if the Techs can figure out what's wrong with it.
