After installing a Belkin wifi card, XP Pro's boot time has increased quite a bit... and it takes 2-3 minutes before XP's Wireless Connection icon pops up and starts connecting to the network (which takes only seconds once it starts).

I've used numerous other Wifi cards on other systems without running into this problem. Any way to make the Belkin load faster?

    System is in signature.

Not overly sure about the PCI version, but I know they did a 54g pcmcia card, which not only destroyed load time, but also kept the processor running at 100%.

Only thing I can suggest is going to msconfig, disabling any belkin services, and relying on the windows config utility

Try setting it to a static ip address instead of dhcp.

Cheers, found a service I thought I'd cleared out and it did the trick... card connects < 5 seconds now.

    What service was it?

I have a Airlink card that if I let the wireless util run at bootup, it takes forever. I prefer to just run it when I'm using the wireless..

I believe it was the Atheros Configuration Service.
