I have some 2mm thick acrylic in the garage (B&Q stuff) and want to bend it, however, i dont have a heat gun...

For reference, i want to make a plate to cover the V1000 seperating plate, the flat, then the angle up to the drive cage area

Any ideas on what i could do, otherwise i will have to find a heat gun :/ (anywhere sell em cheap ?)

Am ideally wanting to use something as a gas hob etc etc  ... thats how i did some heatshrink ... hairdryer overheated or something, cut off then worked ages later (good job - it wasnt mine :D )

use a strip heater if possible. a heat gun is availible at harbor freight for around $30, but if u have a propane torch (avalible at walmart) and are very careful, u can bend it with it.

wsurritte nailed it, heat gun, strip heater, propane torch (can flame polish too) or a oven if you are vaccuum forming or what not, nothign else that I know of that would work reliably. remember killing a sheet of acrylic by trying some dodgy way of bending it, might be more expensive then plucking down for a heat gun
