    hi there!

i'd like to know your opinion about bending plexi..
i know that you have to warm it up(a lot), so it can be bendable without breaking..

'd like to know witch tools i have to use, and for how long i'll have to warm the plexi so it can be bendable..
that kind of things that a noob @ plexi bending needs to know..

    regards

You should mention that the heater element is simply a long piece(s) of resistant wire

You would need more heat then a piece of nichrome wire would put out. The heating elements that ive seen used in hot-strips for bending acrylic were more similar to the elements used in electric ovens or water heaters then just regular nichrome wire.

If you're using a heat gun for a long straight bend, I would clamp either side of the acrylic between blocks of wood.

Get a heat gun and use something straight to guide straight bends. It's easy and heat guns are $20

basically what i did was make a jig so once "melted" it could be held in place till cold. so i heated it in the oven till it went floppy, threw it in the jig (in my case an arc) and held it outside in the cold. it worked a treat.
