I have it narrowed down to these:
    Megaworks 211
    Promedia 2.1
    Z-2300
Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated
BTW my price limit is 500, hopefully under 400

for that kind of money, as long as you don't have a space constraints (like a really small room/desk) I don't see why you should limit yourself to "multimedia" speakers. you would get MUCH better performance out of a seperate reciever, pair of bookshelves, and an inexpensive sub.

I would highly recommend the panasonic sa-xr25 for a reciever, its a discontinued model but can easily be found on ebay for around $150. Really great performance for the price, especially when running off a digital source.

for speakers I'd say the Athena as-b1's would fit in real well. Around $150 new, I've seen em as low as $100 on ebay.

for the sub, can't go wrong with the Dayton 10" "tiny mighty" over at Parts Express. for $100 this thing sure packs some good punch.

Out of those 3 the kipish are by far the best. Anything by Creative is not worth the money to buy and logitech just arnt up there with kiplish but as has been said why not go and get some propper speakers instead of some PC ones.
