Reception area with a high end workstation, + fx3800, Will be running a standard 22" lcd and also a 52" on a wall mount. Whats the best 52" for wide viewing angles, long on periods obviously. Bugdet not an issue as long as good reason can be stated for screen. I dont see "screens" as such only tvs above 30"? cheers rb Edit: Im on trusted reviews at the moment, http://www.trustedreviews.com/filte...lter=86&manufacturer=0&submit.x=16&submit.y=8
I have a Sony Bravia 1080p EX series TV connected to my nVidia 8800GT through HDMI and I love it. Cost a lot at the time, £5800, but it's worth every penny as I have no viewing angle probs ace contrast with no edge fade. In fact the only let down is with badly made/transmitted Freeview programs. The upscaling sometimes looks bad on adverts lettering. But who really cares about that really? I'm sure the tech has advanced enough to make mine look dated now but if I were to upgrade I know what make I'd go for.
At that size you won't find any consumer monitors, only LCD-TV's. Jux has hit it pretty much spot on, I'd go for a 1080p TV, because the cost of a proper monitor is liable to be absolutely enormous.
ive just put forward a Nec MultiSync LCD5220, its rated as a public display screen, I dont know if thats due tot he bezil size or its inneards Edit: Just seen it comes in a "protective glass version" for an addtional few hundred pounds. I asked what the budget was and told it does not matter, it needs to be jusified. See what feedback I get with the above 2.5k one. Double edit: The 22" is a 2243BW which is a samsung, be interesting if sammy do a 52" wide viewing angle etc. Triple edit: Looking at the Samsung LE55B650T2W 55 inch LCD Television 1920 x 1080 (Black)
Just had a look at it and although it's not a bad screen, the response time is actually longer than my Sony. Not a lot but it's always a case with PC screens that the lower the better.
If money is no issue, why not get one of these that I own. 63" Samsung http://forums.bit-tech.net/showpost.php?p=2222261&postcount=5 Here's a list of specs, http://www.multizoneav.com/Product/SAMSUNG/LCD_&_Plasma_TV/PS63B680T6WXXU/GoogleBase/ Simon
The only problem with that model is it's a plasma and if the government do decide to ban them outright then you could be out of pocket. I can't see a power draw figure to confirm anything though.
here is a good 50" tv according to reviews http://www.whathifi.com/Review/Pioneer-KRP-500A/UserReviews/
The government won't ban Plasmas...well not yet anyways. However with that said, perhaps you can find an old Pioneer PRO FDH1, I have one and it's absolutely gorgeous.
Oh they probably will in Great Britain because they are bad for us and the enviroment, we wouldn't want to hurt ourselves now would we? Bloody nanny state!
