Looking for the best agp card for £100.
    Options as i see them:

    6800le 128mb
    6600 256mb
    6600GT 128mb
    9800Pro 128mb

Right now the 6600GT is my favourite, but will there be much difference between it and a 6600 with 256mb? and is it much better than a 9800pro?

(oh and has to fit in my shuttle, so no artic coolers - preferably quite too)

:thumb: Having 256MB is no where near as important as the technology and clock speeds. A 6800LE 128MB would smoke a 6600 256MB. The 6800LE is roughly equal to the 6600GT except it has much better potential o/c'ability, if prices are about the same I would rec the 6800LE. The 6600GT is a firm favourite at the mo but it's only a smidge faster than the 9800Pro so again consider the price diff. The main advantage the 6600/6800 have over the 9800Pro is the superior archy which delivers SM3.0, that may further increase the perf lead in the longer term. I'd have to say the 6600 (non-GT) is just too slow to recommend, although it tends to o/c well.

:) Don't overlook the 9700/9700Pro which are very o/c'able and close in perf to the 9800Pro, Retek do refurb ones for around £60 (ex P&P) which is superb value for money. You should find 2nd hand 9700/9700Pro selling pretty cheap elsewhere too. Other cards often overlooked are the X700 series. The X700 is faster than the 6600 while the X700Pro is only the tiniest bit slower than the 6600GT. The X700Pro got a bad reception because it only really snapped at the heels of the 6600GT. The X700Pro actually tends to be very slightly faster than the 9800Pro and has slightly better archy (SM2.0+ IIRC). The 6600GT's archy is still better than the X700Pro and if price is close the 6600GT is easily the way to go, but you may find the 6600GT £130 vs X700Pro £100 and at these price points the X700Pro wins out easily IMHO.

;) It states as much in my sig but just to reiterate this is only my own insight into these things and in no way meant to be at all definitive, check out reviews and wait for other member's responses.
