Graphics best agp card

ok i gave up on a pci card and decided to get a new mobo for 110 and a new gfx card. well i cant afford a pic-e card so im going with agp for now. i saw a fx5500 and a radeon 9550 which is better or more worth the money.. it will be for my media center

 

hhmm i dont think you need a very good graphics card for your media centre unless your outputting High Definition. Get whatever you can afford tbh (i could be wrong with this but im pretty sure im correct)

 

go with a silent cooled gf6600 from gigabye.. they also have high def out

 

You can get a 9800PRO for cheap now maybe more worthwhile getting one of them.

Im not shure but you may be able to softmod it to 6600 and oc the core to gt speeds (500mhz) IMHO the 6 series has better tv out than all previous gen cards.

 

wha? softmod a 6200 to a 6600 thats like softmodding a 9200 to a 9800

Actualy if you do a bit of reaserch you will find its the same core. At least the early revisions. The newer cores and the turbocache cores dont softmod because they are not the same core as the 6600. I have a softmodable 6200 to 6600. The problem is that the 6600gt relys on 900mhz-1ghz speed on memory and the vanilla 6600's and the 6200's donw oc their mem to those speeds so your mem speed would be 400-700mhz depending on your memory type and luck.
