I was actually gifted these three albums, all by the same guy: http://souleye.se/pppppp http://souleye.se/ppppppowerup http://souleye.se/adventure
An Awesome Wave was frankly, awesome. 2nd Law was alright. Can't wait for the new Queens album next year (And possibly Them Crooked Vultures).
I can't really pin down a best album there have been quite a few: Anaal Nathrakh - Vanitas Pig Destroyer - Book Burner Neurosis - Honour Found In Decay The Civil Wars - Barton Hollow Gojira - L'Enfant Sauvage Ahab - The Giant Enslaved - RIITIIR Those are probably my top albums of the year I think. There are probably a few I've forgotten. Yes that album is complete bonkers. Great fun though.
Alt-J - one of the few albums that all three generations of my family like! YelaWolf and Travis Barker - Psycho White - Being both a drummer and rap fan this album is just crazy.
The new John Frusciante album is just amazing. The track 'bike' is the best thing that I have ever heard.
Not my usual genre but I think the album I've played the most this year has been Of Monsters and Men - My Head is an Animal.
It's a close race between Atlas by Parkway Drive and Sleddin' Hill: A Holiday Album by August Burns Red.
What!? I thought it outstripped Deep Blue and nears Horizons and Killing With A Smile in terms of brilliance!
I really didn't rate it whatsoever, really glad I missed them live with Emmure, would have been a terrible night of idiots swinging their arms round etc. I'm glad I went to Gojira the night before, went in a real pit, got pissed and fell over singing to The Way of All Flesh lol... I love Parkways earlier stuff mind.
Gang Starr - Moment of Truth. Ok so this was an album i was planning to buy ages ago. That and Madvilliany. They're ace. Old but ace.
Just bought Let's Submerge, XRay Spex greatest hits. Not as good as I remembered to be honest. Going to crank up something later, just not sure what... As an aside, I think 2012 is the first year I've not bought any vinyl, need to get the LP12 out of storage in 2013...
