There's a banner ad here atm which links to http://www.quietpc.com/gb-en-gbp/manufacturers/msi.
Can someone tell me which of those is the best deal?
I've not kept up to date with graphics cards recently, so any help will be appreciated.

Note that the first card is definately out of my price range, and the 2nd and 3rd will be a push.

edit: PS - if you are tempted to buy any of these, click the banner here first in case bit get a referal fee and it has to be the banner which links.

I'd go with the X1600XT myself.

There are 5 votes so far, I'd like to see at least 10 before buying, anyone else?

I'm thinking that you should go for a stock 7900GT, and attempt to find an older fanless heatsink or some sort to adapt to it.

It would certainly cost way less - and by the looks of the stock cooling solution, the 7900GT doesn't seem to be that cooling-demanding, so passively cooling it shouldn't be difficult.

I'd say the x1600XT however I would never buy anything from MSI again as I have had 2 faulty motherboards from them nether of which lasted more than a month before being replaced by an ASUS motherboard

    Thanks kingdavies.
I've had no problems with MSI hardware myself (3 mobos, 1 graphics card), but thanks for the heads-up.

Does the card have to be silent mate? As suggested above, you could pick up a normal 7900GT and add a zalman VF700 or similar to it maybe?

silent really would be best, and this is for a SFF case, so any non-stock cooling would have to be slim. the zalman model you mention does look good, but even a standard 7900 is too expensive.

Quiet PC one of the few places to stock all of MSI passive series cards :D The NX7900GT is one of the best performing cards on the market, and is really hard to find passive so if you like your games a good choice. Also consider the RX1600 is a very good price on QPC, and I think in terms of performance for cost is the best out there, of course there is no chance of runing that card in SLI though

i think you are a bit crazy buying from quietpc - they are easily one of the most expensive companys out there - sure they have great products, silent and all that, but if you feel that the price increase is not worth it then that is something.

very few of the latest cards run in small environments, passively. search google for SFF and 7900GT and see what other people are doing before just buying from these guys!

    just my student-less-cost-is-nearly-always-best-opinion!

Update: I've already got a card, and it fits, and is passively cooled.
    :p
