What would be best im getting summer job and saving 1,500 and then my parents said the you pay half what is best pc for 3000$?
Are you getting an all new setup, including monitors? IMO $3000 won't get you much more performance than about $2000, for just a computer. Are you going to build your own? What games are you playing? Have you taken a look at the May hardware guide? (http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2009/05/06/what-hardware-should-i-buy-may-2009/1) Welcome to the forums as well!
I want to play the witcher, Dragon age origins when it comes out and crysis, fallout 3 and few more games. I don't think ill custom build really if it did not where do you think i would get the best prices?
I don't see everyone's fascination with Crysis, it's an average, generic shooter that just happens to look really good. Many people buy from ibuypower, cyberpowerpc for gaming PCs, but I wouldn't recommend them. Dell, HP, etc. make reasonably priced gaming PCs (Dell XPS, HP Blackbird, and so on), but if you want the best performance, you'll have to build your own. You'll be using what you know are the best parts, and you can fine tune the PC to be however you want. It's really pretty easy to build your own, why don't you want to? At the very high end range is where PC building companies rape you with prices. EDIT: JK with the HP Blackbird, apparently it's the Firebird now, and you can't really customize it. EDIT2: Forget the XPS, aah. I just configured a basic i7 system and it ended up a good $1000 over what I expected. EDIT3: It hurts to recommend a prebuilt PC, I can't help you here. EDIT4: Shuttle SDXi Carbon.
What docodine said. For $3000 you pay for the label and service, which you can pretty much guarantee for yourself through a wisely put-together build.
They have TERRIBLE service, shoddy build quality, etc etc etc. Stay away from them! Staying with a reputable company will at least guarantee you a working system!
If that's US$, you don't need $3,000 ($2.5k at most, I would suggest a Core i7-920-based system), and you came essentially to the wrong forum to ask people to recommend you system builders Build it yourself! It's cheaper and you get what you want rather than what your builder happens to have lying around.
you could build the leobeater on that kind of budget.. I mean you'd have the very best.. I liked crysis myself.. thought it was way better than average- especially warhead, was one of my favorites.. far as system builders.. I dunno- don't think most on this forum buy their rigs already built.. not sure what you could get pre-built.. but if you built the thing yourself and know how to oc- your rig would be the bucktooth crusher on that budget XD
