    Hi,

I'm looking for a decent gfx card with tv-out. The one I have seems to be a bit shoddy (any Dark videos look appauling - think it has less that 16-bit colour depth through the tv).

It's purely for a media machine so it doesn't need to be top-end for 3D etc.

Ideally I'd like to stick with Nvidia just because I've got a registered version ov tv tool, but the main issue is price. Wanna keep it kinda cheap.

But I also wanna get it today, so might have to contend with non-internet prices! :sigh:

    Any suggestions welcome!

    Cheers.

Generally the ati's and the matrox cards have the best tv outs but if you want to stick with nvidia try a gf 460mx or 5200 which are cheap. Personally I would go for an ati 9000 or 9200 for £30. These are fine if you want to watch dvd etc but none of the above really cut it in gaming at higher res.

Unless you can get an nvidia with a conxtent chip or the newest philips "08" chips nvidia bundle a pile of poop onto their older cards. Ati rage theatre chipsets are great and have been on every radeon since the R100 (or before?), matrox also have great TV out.

    So, its up to you.

go with an ATI ('built by ATI') - their TV out quality is superb (I use a 7500 in my arcade/pc cab)

the 'powered by ATI' cards are generally not as good quality (I have a Connect3D 9800 in my main rig, and the output is terrible compared to the ATI built 7500)
