    Hi there,

I'm a newbie here looking for some case buying advice. Have been planning a build (i7 930, Gig UD3R, 5870, Corsair 6GB, Samsung F3 1TB) but cannot make my mind up on the case. I have been frantically reading reviews and posts and am now totally confused with the choice:confused:

    Wants:
    Aesthetic looks
Good air cooling (possible water cooling upgrade at some stage)
    Ease of build
    Quiet
    Top notch build quality
    Size not too important...

I have a shortlist but happy to consider others:
    Silverstone TJ07B-W
    Coolermaster Cosmos S
    Corsair Obsidian 800D

Any thoughts or suggestions very welcome.

    Thanks.

Slightly longer short list now: + ATCS 840.

Liking the ATCS 840 not so keen on the Lian. Any particular pros over the others I mentioned?

I don't have one but apparently it has awsome cooling performance http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2009/05/29/lian-li-pc-p50-review/1

In addition, Lian-Li is quality kit and, like Silverstone and Coolermaster, has a whole range of accessories if you want them.

I have a Lian-Li PC 60 FW and it's an awesome looking compact little case. The cases are really of quality build and I really like little things like the rubberised HDD trays and the case fans are attached using rubber grommets.

The TJ07 isn't amazing for air cooling. I'd personally look into getting a 2nd hand Lian Li V series (1000, 1010, 2000 or 2010), which do all of the above... I'm sure I've seen a V1000 on a Member's market for £60 delivered recently (be prepared to pay ~£20 more on Fleabay)

If you are going to watercool in future, you will probably be best to ignore the FT02 - from all reports it would a nightmare trying to get radiators into the case with the m/b rotated 90 degrees. If you look at the pictures on the link I posted earlier, you will see what I mean.

The ATCS is amazing, its just beautiful to work with and look at :) Think of it as the HAF 932's bigger, better looking brother...

Thanks for the replies I think its between the ACTS and the FT02 now. Read a review which slightly questioned the cooling on the ACTS due to the large fan being too far away from the mobo....? I like the looks of the FT02, thanks for the shout. I think I could live without the watercooling but does anyone have any ideas on air cooling of the FT02??

Another vote for the gorgeous 840. Really is a wonderful case to work with, lovely airflow etc but almost as important (if not more so) nice to look at everyday :)

Out of your list i would go for the cosmos S for air cooling, if you are planning a water upgrade get the Tj07.

but off the list as others have recommended the atcs 840 which is a good case, also the antec 1200 and the HAF 932 are very good.

They are better at cooling than the ATCS and my opinion about quality comes from experience of using the cases.

I like the ATCS i just prefer the other 2

Not really, my mates ATCS runs the same as my HAF and it doesn't have grills all over the place.

I forgot to add that my mate had added fans to the extra places in his ATCS, and this aids cooling :)
