Basically, I'm getting **** raped over here by 'System Fix' which has hidden all my folders and files and tells me I have a fatal HDD error.

I did have some great spyware removal tools but have forgotten them now, any recommendations?

you need to run rkill, it will stop system fix from being a bitch. lemme get link..

see post 4, system fix moves all your things.

but you need to run rkill, get it on another computer, put it on a stick. plug into infected machine and run it, it will stop system fix, then do a full malwarebytes and it will remove it, you dont need to go into safe mode. restart, do anotehr scan, then restore all your things.

Your issue is not spyware it's malware.
Spyware spy on what you do and sends that information to someone, which may or may not include personal information collected.
