I would like to add one for the halo series, in my humble opinion has some fantastic music that I would happily listen to as music it's self, Well I do.

Oh dear god, please do not sully adagio for stings' name with that crap.

I love techo, I love adagio for strings, but whoever thought the two together would be a good idea deserves to be permanently removed from any places where people can actually hear them speak.

That was a choral version of Adagio for strings, sung by a Canadian choir IIRC, although I have no idea how one would go about getting the same recording, and I have looked.

It is a gorgeous version of adagio for strings, most people I know just played it in multi, nothing else, myself included. Anyone who has any luck tracking it down, let us all know :)

THe music on home world is sublime
It actauly made me pissed off at the start when karack (or whatever it was called) got destroyed.

Also vice city has music for most tastes which is good for me. SA ruined it a little with all the rap and r+b. I did like sage on radio x though :D

Far far too many young people on here !
none of the new gen games(music) can compete with such classics like...

    Wonderboy (arcade)
    Phsyco fox (sms)
    Donkey kong (snes)
    Super castlevania 4 (snes)
    Outrun (arcade)
    Space harrier (arcade)
    Street fighter 2 - guile stage (arcade+snes)
    streets of rage 2 (smd)

i do think call of duty in game music was superb too :D

I think we've got two different conceptions of good here. What fit the game well is one thing, what you'd listen to outside of the game is something else (and what I'm talking about). SC:CT, for example, has a great soundtrack and fits the game superbly, but I wouldn't listen to it outside of the game.
