Is there a list anywhere of the nvidia certified games? Tried googling it and checking on their site, didn't see one. I've been tempted by 3D for ages, but if it's only four or five titles it's not really worth all the upgrades.
not sure about nvidia certified games but on their site they got a small list of games and 3D ratings for them I chose to go the 3DTV play route rather than a dedicated monitor so that if 3D gaming did turn out to be rubish/limited then i would still be able to enjoy 3D movies, only problem with 3D play is that your limited to HD resolutions and nothing over 1080
The list comes with the Nvidia drivers. When you go to the 3d section, you can get a list of games and how they work in stereo. Under the stereoscopic 3d menu.... "view compatibility with games" Just bought Bulletstorm on Origin with the discount voucher someone posted on this forum. That game has "excellence" rating for stereo 3d.
metro 2033 is amazing. crysis 2 is very realistic. hard reset looks really cool however is a ridiculously hard game.
There are many 3D Games available in the Market. The Most Favorable 3D Game to play is listed below. 1. Serious sam 2. Halo 2 3. Tomb Rider 4. The God of War 5. NFS Most wanted
Yup, I got crysis 2 and played it 3d. Looks great. Haven't tried metro in 3d. Hard reset I nearly bought on steam but couldn't decide. Number 1 on your list looks great however, anyone with the serious sam HD version will be disappointed. The 3d is screwed up because they overlaid 2d stuff to save time so the graphics are screwed. Alan Wake PC looks great in 3d. I was led to believe it was certified but the Nvidia message popped up saying it hasn't even been tested yet! There are a few minor issues but nothing bad. I think at least it will get an excellence rating.
Apparently racing games are good in 3D, as it gives you a better sense of depth so you can judge or see corners better or something.
Shift 2 has big problems, Nvidia don't recommend. Not tried any other racer yet. http://www.kikatek.com/product_info.php?products_id=241899&strAction=NoStock
I played G.R.ID yesturday and that was really good in 3D, especially the incar view, the cars dashboard/steering wheel/ dials were really 3D. NFS Hot persuit was rubbish and had loads of glitches Crysis 2 is the best looking 3D game ive played so far Duke nukem was really good Going to try Deus Ex HR later on Going to stick to these games for a while now otherwise im going to have to many games on the go at once
I can imagine 3D making a game like GRID much more playable, actually, as one of the biggest problems for me is just judging the severity of corners before I'm on top of them - it's such a simple thing to do in real life that it doesn't even take conscious effort, but in 2D it's a skill you have to completely relearn. And judging corners properly is virtually all that racing games consist of (go ahead, take your best shot, Gunsmith); if you can't do that, you can't play them. Which is chiefly why I don't.
Are you guys playing in 720p? On my old HD4890 I used a third-party 3d app, "DDD" or TriDef, that allowed me to play in 1080p Side By Side or Pixel Alternating 3D. But since I upgraded to my Nvidia 560ti-SLI set up, Nvidia will only let me play in 720p - it's horrible!
i play in 1080. i want another monitor so i can trip screen 3d but i need another graphics card to do that XD i use Nvidia vision main topic wise. i forgot about audiosurf. It looks really nice. i would heavily recommend it anyway ut it works really well in 3d. The game play works fine but all the menu's don't. Batman arkham city/asylum both look good as-well. Out of all games metro and audio surf are my Favourite to play in 3d
I only play in 720 as that's the highest my tv will go There's option in the nvidia control center for changing 3D resolutions, I can set 1080 but I get a message on my tv stating unsupported resolution. Multi-monitor 3D gaming? Can't see how this would work tidy as the monitor bezels would break up the 3D image, so you would be left with flat spots inbetween each screen, have you tried it?
This week is racing week for me. I bought a Steelseries SRW-S1 motion sensing wheel. Nice looking, good control however it died 2 days later so is going back for refund. While it was working I tried the following in 3d... Simraceway... Excellent 3d although u have to set the stereo depth quite low, the game comes alive in stereo 3d. Shift2... Awful. No surprise. Awful 3d and awful lag on steering. Dirt2... Awful stereo 3d. F1 2011... This one surprised me. The 3d looks great and once again the game comes alive. The steering was responsive with no lag. I find it hard to stop playing this. In summary I would say that racing in stereo 3d makes the game look and feel more real. Regarding the SRW-S1... I bought it because it doesn't need a desk mount. Shame the hardware fails after a few days. Now I am looking at buying a new wheel and pedals. I have my old logi formula force GT which I bought 12 years ago 2nd hand. It still works! I havent used it for ages due to lack of desk space. I have now purchased an under desk keyboard tray so if that works out I can leave the wheel on desk. May buy this... http://www.fanatec.de/html/index.php?id=230&lang=en
Aha! This wheel comes with the clubsport! I checked with the company cos it says this wheel includes the clubsport. £309 all in. I nearly bought the Logi G27 today but there is just something I suspect is not right about it (apart from the plastic pedal base). Many people complain about a deadzone of about 10 - 15% which can't be changed. If there's one thing I hate it's deadzone. A very tiny amount is ok but certainly not 15%.
I have the GT3 RS wheel and clubsport pedals Amazing bits of kit and well worth the money! Only issue is the clicky gear shifter, I haven't had a new racing game for ages but once I get over BF3 I will be buying a shifter and probably modding it to remove the awful click.
