OK I have been using the Razer Diamondback mouse, but TBH my hand is tooo big and I keep gettin cramp and killed way too much....LOL Can anyone advise a comfy fast gaming mouse.... My current front runner is the Logitech MX518 http://www.tomshardware.com/game/200504022/logitech_mx518-03.html I know alot of peeps like the cordless version of this... and the reviews all rate this mouse highly. I would also be interested in a good quality mouse pad to go with it?? I prefer the "right hand specific design" e.g. the old microft explorer with a large arching back. Fancy leds and fans -- leave them This razer is a nice mouse but I just can not handle the symetrical shape plus those buttons on the side are ****. Cheers All, Matty
My MX-1000 is not a mouse, its an extention of my hand... at least thats what it feels like. Its wonderful and the thing will track on anything (tough a good mouse pad is always nice). Theres a total of 8 buttons + the scroll wheel... You can assign key strokes to all the buttons which is great for gaming. The battery lasts a hell of a long time, I usually throw it on the charger once every two weeks while im sleeping. When I bought it I was worried because it was cordless, but theres no problem there. The thing works as responsive a corded mouse even when your across the room. Highly recommend it. I'd link it to you from newegg, but meh, the sites down?
Thanks Chaps, OK Logitech is nice and comfy.... Does anyone know anything aboout the new MX518 ?? Thnx Matty
I thought that was a MX510 with dents when I first saw it.. I have a MX700 and it is the best mouse I've ever owned. It's pretty large as my brother chose a MX310 because he thought mine was too big.
In the market for a new mouse too, how much lag is there with the MX700/1000? Would rather go cordless than corded if possible..
I started off with a mx-500 mouse which I used for over 1.5 years for my gaming and it has been a pleasure to play with this mouse. I have the mx-1000 as of now.. and I am using it for like 3 months now.. it's a good mouse, nice reaction and I don't use a mousepad ( never did ). But I kinda dislike the size of it and since I'm upgrading my pc, I am thinking of buying the mx-518 and selling my mx-1000 even though I like it. (if any1 is interested in some nice pc parts for a good price, pm me; that includes the mouse too) I read some nice reviews about the mx-518 and it has 16000 dpi (or was it 1600?) w/e. I always had logitech mice and I never had any problem with them. And the mx-518 has manually dpi adjustments which is really nice. And I'm looking for something a bit smaller then the mx-1000 so it should definatly suit my needs. Why do you use a mouse pad? If you just have it on your desk.. it's much easier
im very happy with mx1000. even better than my old mx700. see this thread. you even suggested the razer diamondback...
Did you mean me? I don't use a mouse pad either with it. But thb with you i've used one of those Icemat gaming mouse pads a couple of times (the one thats made up of glass costs $50) and it is a lot better then just a plan old desk. But I don't have the money to blow on one myself
i use the MX1000 myself, always thought it was abit heavy until i got a decent mousepad, after that the thing glides like it isnt even there
I have the MX-518 and tbh it was well worth the money, on the fly dpi switchin is nice for sniping and 1600DPI is accurate
Well ive had 3 mice over my gaming time, a Microsoft Opticle, Razer Boomslang and MX-1000. The boomslang was awsome, however large and weird to hold... then i got this mx1000 for my birthday and dam it rocks. It might be big but u say u like form fitting and welll, its just that. Get it on a decent surface ( i use a ratpad ) and it glides around, its got tons of buttons, u wouldnt know it was wireless, good battery life and great sensitivity. I think ive been turned! Anyhow, my 2c.
From what I've heard, the MX1000 is much better than the 700 with regards to wireless responsiveness. I used to have a MX700 and it just lagged a bit when I was gaming. I'm looking at buying an MX1000 but the cordless still worries me. I don't waant to spend that much on a mouse and have it lag. I wonder if they are bringing out a corded version. MX5xx seem to be generally good.
Oops You got point uwanabigmac! OK, OK After using the razer for a bit longer, I have changed my mind You are allowed to admit a mistake? It is a good mouse but just a bit too small for my hand....and I prefer the right handed specific design.........(Saometimes I have to unplug the DBack and plug back in when I boot up the pc) I like the on the fly hardware adjustment of the MX518 + the software is a bit better....IMOA another thing that anoys me about the razer NOW is the fact the buttons are flush next to the middle mouse roller easy to press by mistake. I think I will get the Logi....
N4NOID How does it feel to hold "does it get sweaty" if ya know what I Meeen, Are the buttons starting to get spongy or unresponsive? Have the feet worn OK etc.. Cheers, Matty
I really didn't want to switch away from my beloved MSIEv3 but I did, to the Diamondback. I've got large hands too (you know what that means* ) and it's fine for me, though I agree the side buttons could be a bit better implemented...however I just can't stand the shape of Logitech mice (haven't tried the MX1000, it might be better), I'd rather have small and flat than small and rounded. I'm just gonna make do with the Diamondback (which has an ace engine to it, you can't deny that) until MS realise their mistake and bring back the best shape in the world * large gloves
I'm using the MX-500, have been for some time and find it a pleasure to use. And it works great with the icemat.
