My plantronics gamecoms snapped last night. So I mic-less.
Im thinking about the vengeance 1300, but should I stump up for the 7.1 1500 with on board sound card for extra surround depth??
Is there something better out there?

Given that my last cans physically broke, build quality is a must as is comfort... Im always the guy who needs the extra large helmet at gokarting :D

Razer Carcharias is mah suggestion, bit over the budget but amazingly comfortable, light and solid. Good mic and sound quality too; 5.1 and 7.1 headsets are gimmicky at best and don't work any better than a good 2.1 :p

ASUS RoG Vulcan ANC. About £70 but they are worth it! Has had really good reviews and the noise cancelling is absolutely brilliant! Very comfy to wear as well!

I would love the vulcans. But much like Wii-motes, wireless mice and keyboards if I buy a product I want it to work without having to lash out another 20 quid on batteries and a charger.

    Can we keep to budget?
    Around 50 notes?

That's fair, you don't need to have the ANC on to make the most of them. The cans are good at cancelling out sound without the ANC switched on.
