The thermalright series (SLK 900/947 etc) are the best for aircooling as long as you have suitable mounts on your mobo...

the sp97 is by far the best aircooling you can buy for AMD. WIth a 92mm panaflow i can run my barton at 1.95v (2700mhz) with acceptable temps

interesting. do any of you know anything about the aerocool? the thermalright looks good

also, can you buy little strips with a heat diode at the end to monitor the temperature of your processor because of the margin of error that the diode sometimes has?

For s462 and 478 the Thermalright SP-97 and 94 are the best heatsinks, both with quiet and loud/powerful fans. I have the Swiftech MCX462-V myself, it's pretty good, but I would never have bought it for full price, it's very expensive, at least here in Norway. Mine is 2nd hand bought cheap.

Here's the top AMD heatsinks tested:

Before I got WC I had an Alpha PAL 8045. It's very good with high and low powered fans!

Thermalright seems to be the best at the moment though.

    aerocool

is over priced and over hypered for what it is, its great for a stabdard user and looks nice, but its really nothign special and its bloody noisey when at any kinda half decent level.

    Thermalright all the way m8.

and maplin.com for those lil temp sensors m8 ;)
