whats the best low resistance mouse mat? i'm looking for one that i could for example lightly poke the mouse and it would keep moving on its own until it fell off the mouse mat. ala the air hockey table. i'd prefer black / grey / white and definitely nothing with 'gamer' graphics. it doesn't need to be enormous, but a little larger than standard office size would be good. also i would like it to be thin so its not noticeable. i'm used to just mousing on my desk surface. but my new desk isn't as smooth as my old one. since its not made of real wood, i can't sand it to a glass like finish. hence my need for a mouse mat. i've got an mx revolution with corepad replacement glides.

Would a sheet of Teflon work perhaps ( since its designed to be non-stick, though not sure how smooth it would be as such )?..

Depending on how good the laser is on your mouse... get a thin sheet of glass cut to size and smoothed off and put that on your desk. If the laser is good, and the glass is thin enough, it should pick up the desk surface rather than refract through the glass and it'll be smooth as a babies bum.
