My ZEN player screen has stopped working although I can hear the music still, tried reset button, leaving it for couple days, charging with mains charger, but nothing works so looks to be faulty.

Can anyone recommend a good mp3 player, which is high on audio quality please? Also if possible under £100 barrier
    NO Apple products please

    thanks :)

In all fairness to Apple, the success comes from having the best overall package, not from how it sounds.

I'd recommend the Sanza Fuze also, simply astonishing for the price!

My Walkman [forget which model it is] has served me well... no bells or whistles... just plays music...

other than price any criteria? screen or no screen? capacity?

If you are lucky to find one, the Microsoft Zune. Much better sound than most MP3 players, easy navigation and kick-ass software, with a kick-ass optimal service: Zune Pass. Unlimited music download for 10$ (8.99 pounds ext VAT) per month (or cheaper per year). It has a hole system for you to discover new artists, and possibly music genre. Alternatively, you can go with Windows Phone 7, which has Zune integration. But I don't know about sound quality, so I guess check reviews.

Sansa players (such as Clip) are excellent, awesome playback quality too.

I was going to jump in and suggest a Cowon, but I see we've already dismissed it. :(

Aye, the price is just too much for me, would rather put that money towards a Samsung S2
