As the title says, i am looking for a good p45 motherboard that can overclock and has good features such as ports/quality. I currently have a ep45-ud3p which is an awesome board but i recently acquired a qx6700, 4gb ram, 8800gtx and a Tagan psu with a striker extreme. I have sold the striker extreme as it is a very hot running board and doesn't overclock quads that well.

So my question is what board should i go with to overclock this qx6700? Thanks

ASUS P5Q pro/deluxe is one of the best but its £120 so it not worth it anymroe

whats wrong with the EP45-UD3P ? doesnt that overclock well ?

The ASUS P5Q SE sho0uld overclock well and i have had the older P5K SE and it overclocked my E2160 from 1.6Ghz to 3.2Ghz

your QX6700 should be able to reach around 3.2-3.4Ghz max i reckon and with it been multi unlocked and decent mobo should suffice as you wont have to push the FSB up to crazy high speeds.

I have a P5Q-Deluxe, and I've had my Q9450 at 3.8Ghz and did a bench test on that...it later crashed while gaming and on Orthos, so I'm back at 3.2.

It really is a nice board, great layout as well.

If you PM me, I may have a board you may be interested in for about £80-100 ;)

The ud3p has my q9400 oced to 3.7ghz atm which is around 470mhz fsb so its really good oc. I was just asking if there were any others floating around still. I can get the ud3p from ebay (new) for around $140, seeing as the rest of the pc was free im only going to be out what the striker didnt cover to get this pc up and running.

I was looking at upgradingto a new P45 board before my Q6600 died (fricking power surge) & the board I liked the most is the Asus P5Q Deluxe.

However I really think that there's no need to to upgrade from the UD3P. It's one of the best featured motherboards around.
