I failed to note earlier that you are in Germany. Sorry for posting a states site, not much help to you. Cathar's own site:

    www.employees.org/~slf/lrwb/

I hope this is of more help to you.

    [De]FreD_S,

I'm just wondering one thing. Why BIX2 instead of the Abyss form OCPC which is the same maker of the Atlantis.

Did you read the review of the Atlantis by Bill Adams at overclockers? YOu might also be interested in Bill's article on a moded Swiftech block that displayed a very close pattern of low resistence to flow & poorer cooling than the Atlantis has. But as the Atlantis has extremly low flow resistence I've wondered how it would perform if you altered the inlet for impingement of the flow for high velocity in the WB. When Bill did this to the Swifty it really jumped in performance. And sense the Atlantis starts out with better performance than that Swifty had it might make the Atlantis really go big time. Perhaps a reduction from the 10.5mm ID it comes with to say 7mm, that should speed things along very nicely. A short 1/4" insert soldered in the larger 10.5mm ID barb would be all that is needed. And easy to be rid of if you didn't like the results, just drill it out.

Note: It is a sure sign of to much time on your hands when you find yourself planning mods for parts you don't have.:eeek:

Well, the abyss costs 103 Euro + shipping from the u.k. to germany which isn't exactly cheap ... the BIX2 cost 104 Euro + 5 Euro shipping so it was a clear cost decision.

Concerning the swifty ... dunno if it would actually work on the atlantis. someone around here could try :worried: maybe me but then again, I don't have the time to do it ... lerning physiks, maths & technical mechanics doesn't allow alot of free time :sigh:

    Cheers

I paid 15 Euro shipping for the atlantis ... I don't want to know what I would have paid for anything bigger/heavier ... Airfreight is always expensive and ship/land takes too long

    Cheers

I priced a Atlantis myself a while back. Shipping to the states would raise the pice to over $90 USD. Put me off a bit. Glad I didn't now, new designs comeing out are really top shelf performers. But the Atlantis is still the best looking of all the CPU blocks I've seen.
