I'm looking to get a new case soon (Cooler Master Praetorian), and I am going to want to sleeve my PSU up, along with my fans (they are sleeved in black right now, but I don't want black)...

What sleeving would you recommend? I am probably going to want silver or white sleeving, and most likely lots of it, because I have a lot of things to connect, two optical drives, two hard drives, a video card (fx5900) and like 6 fans... let me count exactly what I have hooked up to my psu right now; alright... 8 things (I think there are 4-6 molex's and I have a y splitter and some dovetail (I think that's what they're called anyways, or chained fan hookups..)

So; I will need a quite a bit of sleeving... are there any guides around here? (I was searching but with no luck.

Dovetail is a type of wood joint. I think you're looking for daisy chain.

I can't really recommend colors for you, just do what you like. Just know that UV red tends to be pretty orange-ish. I always get extra sleeving.... provided you have removal tools and won't need to try getting the sleeving over the connectors, I'd go with at least 15' of 1/4" (molex, etc) and 10' of 1/8" (fans). If you wanna do the ATX line, get a few feet of 1/2" (or is it 3/8"?). The sleeving kits give you a decent idea, but double the heatshrink length at least and probably 1.5x the sleeving depending on how much you need sleeved.

I was seriously looking at these vantec sleeving kits on newegg... seems easier and cheaper than buying them seperately.. though the color selection is rather limited to: UV Red, UV Green, UV Yellow, blue and black. I think two kits (possibly different colors) would be plenty (like, 20 feet of each 1/4 and 1/8"... 10 feet of each 3/8" and 1/2"... 2 feet of both 9mm and 20mm shrink... 1 foot of 25mm shrink).

Considering these choices, I will probably go with black, because I'll probably end up buying the pre-modded side panel (it is a blue piece of plexi) and a few blue cathodes... If not, I'd probably get the UV Yellow, but yellow doesn't go very well with silver, and through a blue window it will probably look green (not much of a fan of green).

I have the molex tools covered, I will probably buy this black molex kit on newegg which includes a female molex remover. What's good for heatshrink heating, a heatgun I know, but can I get one from like walmart or home depot for like, 10 dollars? Or would a simple hair dryer work?

The Vantec kits have a good range of braiding sizes, but the heatshrink is way to big. You find that you use up all the small stuff real quick and either end up using insulating tape or having to buy separate heatshrink elsewhere to finish it off as most of what is supplied by vantec is useless.

The first PSU i did I found that the only way to get the vantec shrink to fit was to put a cable tie under it to hold the braid in place and then when shrunk using a heatgun the shrink grips the cable tie, but not the braid or cable. They are asking the heat shrink to contract by way over half its original size.

Be sure to remove your molex plugs for the bext possible finish.
