Audigy 2........errrr (will leave Penski to explain why not to buy a Creative card for music productions or sound quality, though as a gamers card they're ok - seems to be his favourite subject ;))

Personally I would recommend waiting for the M-Audio Revolution at ~£100 or looking at the Terratec line of cards, especially the DMX6Fire 24/96 or the DMX6FireLT (same card without the front panel though).

    :)

If you've got the cash, don't even consider anything from Creative

    Terratec all the way!

if you want sound quality, get terratec or the m-audio...

creative lie about the quality of their soundcards, and they sure as hell arent as good as the above mentioned brands...

Dont bother with Creative. When i upgrade or get a new comptuer next time im not going to bother look at them their too commercialized now. What i mean is they dont need to bother selling truely stunning products because they know their name "creative" will sell the product for them. Would this be suitable for you? I dont know what its like cos ive been out of the hardware scence for a while and ain upto date on stuff but u sound like some one that wants it for a musical purpose.HERE

I'm in the market for a new card to but I also have another criteria.

I have an ABIT KG7 which doesn't have a pci lock. I can run this board at a 155 FSB comfortably but, with my current SB live in it's held back to 143.

I don't have the cash for new mobo and sound card at the mo and can't clock any higher as I'm up to max on my multiplier 12.5 (at 29oC).

so any suggestions that can handle high FSB's yet still sound mighty fine without breaking the bank.

Tall order I know but there must be one out there.

It's just that, from my viewpoint, what they are doing is downright illegal and consumers should be warned about this.
