Ok guys, this is a tough one. What is the best camera for under £200, preferably not a compact digital camera. My preferred brand is nikon. What do you guys recommend?
You want a camera for under £200 that isn't a compact? are you looking at bridge cameras then or 2nd hand SLR's?
For a 2nd hand Nikon SLR through a retailer shuch as ffordes.com or mpbphotographic.co.uk/ your going to be looking at D70's D50's or D40's for about £150 body only and possibly a D60 at a touch over £200 body only.
Or check out ebay. I sold my first DSLR (Eos 300D) on there a few years ago and while I was pretty happy with the price I got, the new owner considered it a bargain. Whatever, you're not going to have much choice for £200 inc a lens. Try a search and see what you'd get for the money: http://completed.shop.ebay.co.uk/Di...3286.c0.m282&_mPrRngCbx=1&_udlo=190&_udhi=210 But also factor in you may need a new battery (if the old one is toast) and memory card, maybe a case etc.
London camera exchange arent too bad. A quick search (althouth there were more) turned out these examples: Nikon D50 D70s Sony A200 Pentax K100D Canon 350D 400D 20D Olympus E500 E410 If you have a look on eBay I think £200 wont be too far off a Pentax K10D/Samsung GX10 which although was priced around the beginner/amatuer range competes on features with the enthusiast range of DSLRs. For £299.99 at some online retailers you can get a brand new Sony Alpha A290
Thanks very much guys. I've sprung for a Nikon D50 with bag, working battery, charger and memory card for £140.
