    Whats ur favorite twak utility?
    Any recommendations?
    Any keep aways?

    Let us know here!

    Me:
I currently use 'Tweak XP Pro'
its the best utility i've used so far, seems to do loadsa useful stuff. But it also has a habit of messing things up despite my best efforts.

However lately i've heard great things about:
    'TuneUp Utilities 2004' ??

Hi, XP-Antispy and XP-Smoker are two applications I've used in the past. A rather promising looking app is called http://www.x-setup.net/ haven't tried it yet.

I've been using X-setup for the past couple of years. Pretty much a tool for the wise (some of the settings are quite bizarre) and needs some care and attention, but easily one of the best free proggies out there.
Its going shareware soon, so snap up a free copy as soon as poss.

Apart from that, TuneXP is a tidy little app that has a few performance-related settings (for those who don't want to bugger too much up).

I gave up using ram idle. Works like a charm on win9x and lower mem winxp systems, but if uve got over 256mb of ram, XP actually handles ram better on its own, without the program running. Ram Idle just seems to slow things down alot.
Good proggie tho, when used in the right situation.

depending exactly what you want to do....

tweakUI is a classic, gives you a few more options,
otherwise ive used Tweak XP Pro but tbh doesnt seem to give me many options i care about changing (but then i like things lookings pretty, even if they are a bit slower)

as El_JimBob says, XP seems quite happy looking after RAM, but then again i may just not be hardcore enough!
