As an existing TES and MMO player I had high hopes for ESO and it seemed to promise much but, ultimately disappointed. I stopped playing last November, a bit bored and thoroughly fed up with the lag and intermittent freezes. When I looked in on Tuesday, to find my character's skills and attributes rest, I couldn't summon enough enthusiasm to do anything about it. Bethesda and Zenimax should and could have done much better.

I really wanted to like the game at the start, the only game for which I have participated in pre-launch beta testing.

Played since BETA until around January. Got fed up with PvP although I still had some fun.

Yesterday I booted my now-sub-free copy and greeted with patch 1.6....

....which turns the game completely on its head.

    And it's awesome.

v2.0 (this free2buy thing) is nowhere near as exciting as v1.6 overhaul.

Dumb combat for noobs is what ruined this game for me. And stupid non instanced dungeons full of people fighting over every kill. Oh and the worst group content I've ever seen.
