Hey guys i need your help. I just build my first computer.
    Specs:
    Intel Pentium 820 D Processor
    1GB of corsair
    250GB 7200rpm SATA drive
    ATI Raeon X800XL 256MB PCI-E
    Onboard Intel audio.
I have all the latest patches and everything else. I just got BF2 a couple days ago and it was working fine at first. The only problem I had is my headset doesn't work. Just yesterday I went to play it and after it loads the map the screen would go blue and freeze. I updated my drivers and such but now when the map loads it exits the game and goes to the desktop. I can't figure out how to fix this. I've already uninstalled and installed the game. I've tried everything i can think of but it still won't work.
    Got any suggestions?

well i don't know if you already have but anyway .... update yr x1800xl driver to eth 5.10a/b version, the drivers for the new ati cards are shoddy to say the least not unleashing eth full potential of yr card.

As far as the exiting goes, i think you need to make sure you got the 1.03 patch of bf2 also make sure punkbuster is up to date, also try googling bf2 problem with Intel 820 ( random guess on what to Google ) but see if any one has had probs

sorry bout no definitive answer but try some of the above if u haven't already

    Phil

had lots of blue screen crashes with my newly built pc.
fixed it by using older video drivers
the latest drivers were what caused the crash

    alos i had audio cracking.
again solved by using a specific old driver rather than latest

I actuly have audio cracking as well ... but I use an onboard sound card. So if I found an older driver for my sound card will it stop?

my sound was actually onboard sound. i think realtek drivers ac97 drivers.
it was one specific year old driver that fixed the dam crackling

Setting the audio to use Software rendering should solve the crackling (if it is set to Hardware rendering).
