Having watched a lot of CNN last night and this morning, it seems that they're doing everything they can to inform people of what you're saying, but whilst the big asterisk of "we don't know this for certain, because we don't, but this is what the data is suggesting, but we can't confirm anything until ALL the votes are counted, which might not be till later today or tomorrow". Very much enforcing the point that there are still hundreds of thousands if not millions of votes to be counted, so trump's declarations are false and unlawful.
Yeah, all projections are pointing to Biden victory (hell he even wins if you just stopped counting now, I believe), but they are just projections, and the public is going to be especially wary given how badly the polls seem to have done (although it remains to be seen how badly they actually did). Hoping my nerves will be soothed coming into the evening with some big Biden wins. It really could come down to a very close final result, which means there's going to be tension for several weeks as we wait to hear about recounts and legal challenges. That said, if everything goes the way I hope it will it's going to be enjoyable watch Trump's climbdown from calling an election that he lost.
