    This is sad man! Some bloke whos worked his ass off for 10 years is on £23,000! Hes retraining as a gas fitter and gonna get more pay and everythings gonna be better! He was a University researcher! :eyebrow: :miffed:

    Yeah, this is sad.
    In these times it is tough to get a university career and researchers are really bad paid and see no future. :(
    I know people who abandoned their researcher job at 40 because they still hadn't a sure work.
    What a shame !

    Ah, thanks. I thought so, just wanted to be sure. That is really sad, that someone like that could have to resort to something so far their level of education. I read about something similar, a teacher had quit and gotten a job as a plumber after talking to one who came to fix his kitchen.

    I hate this, it seems increasingly that all the uk is interested is making money from money, do we actually lead the world in any reasearch or development anymore, very sad :(
