Anyone seen any guides on modding bios logos. The only one I can find is on virtual hideout. I realy want to try it but dont want to trash my bios. I have a dual bios board does this make it risk free?

Yes i have. I tried and it worked. But then it didn't. The BIOS pics are EPA files and you can get a EPA2BMP converter. This is what I did.

I changed my old PII board and it stoped showing the pic all together then I decided to change it back and then it fuked up fully! In a few words: ITS NOT WORTH IT! sorry but you could screw the whole lot up fully.

Cheers mate! I was allways kind of in two minds and the only guides I could find were prety rough. I think I will take your advice and not break my computer.

I never even read a guide on doing it. Got an iamge doen and imported the EPa in to the image. Did it when I was 13, not a good idea. To be honest how often do you see the image? Also just disable the startup logo. The nall you'll see is the BIOS manfac logo.

It's nice to see that manufacturers have though of this. For example with this Soyo KT333 dragon ultra you get the software to do your own images and them you can choose from bios which image to show during the boot etc. For some this might be importat but I don't really care about this feature because I don't boot my machine that ofter and when I do the image will be shown so short period of time so it really doesn't matter what it reads or contains.

No you need to flash the bios. I have to get a bin file and merge the new image in with it then flash it.

I did my last Abit (KT7A) board twice. The first time, I had the picture in the wrong format, so I just got garbage characters when it booted. Everything worked fine though. The second go around it worked much better. I followed the guide @ VH BTW.

Have a read on this page : http://users.cybercity.dk/~dsl6178/bios/Bioslogo.html

There's quite a few links on that site too, should be enough info to sort you out :D

    Good luck!

    Precisely what japala said

Do you really look at the picture long enough to A)enjoy it or B)realize what it is? My monitor usually isn't up and running before that thing dissapears.
