The problem started when I was playing Crysis and my computer completely froze up. I reset and now it wouldn't even post; the board would get to the processor check and then fail. This happened a few times so I shut the power off to the PSU and waited a couple minutes, when I came back the BIOS posted fine, but was very slow. Once I get into Windows (Windows 7 64 bit Professional) everything runs at normal speed.

Except for the fact that my 1TB F1 no longer mounts or shows up in Disk Management. The BIOS reports it fine (all of of my hard drives are there), but Windows doesn't see anything.

I did a quick google search and didn't turn up anything that seemed helpful; so any one have ideas?

EDIT: I don't know what happened but the disk is showing up again. Chkdsk is showing that everything is alright as well; so I guess the problem sorted itself out.

BIOS bug maybe at a guess. Keep an eye and ear on that drive though.

it may be worth reseting your bios and set it back up, bios checks shouldn't take long.

the reasons it may have taken a long time however is there is a timeout waiting for response from sata / usb.

it could have been it was detected but didn't spin up, i'd get a SMART monitoring tool on it and see if it reports anything.

Ran HD Tune on the drive and it claims everything is fine with the drive. It's working now so I'm happy; but I'll be keeping an eye on it. Thanks for the replies.
