News BioShock 2 will feature multiplayer

BioShock 2 is confirmed to feature multiplayer, as well as co-op, according to new reports.

 

I really enjoyed Bioshock, but I felt after all the upgrading of weapons ect, upon completion of the game did not allow for any replay value, I wanted to be able to return to levels and hunt a few Big Daddies, that I missed??? Poor ending, to a great game.....

 

Well I'm disappointed that they are even making a sequel to Bioshock, let alone adding co-op and multiplayer. I don't have much hope for the game being any good.

 

I'm also becoming a bit cynical.. I'll be buying it though anyway as if it was anything like the predecessor (which i enjoyed an inordinate amount) it'll be good times!

 

I still can't play it, crashes after first water scene

 

after the tripe that was the first im avoiding this at all costs.

 

I really enjoyed Bioshock. The pipeline puzzle got tedious after a while, but the city of Rapture was beautifully designed. The story was great. I'm a big fan of Co-op style gaming and so will be looking forwards to this.

 

Did you can this story a week ago? It's common knowledge that not only is the Big Daddy back, but he (you, the player) is the main character. It seems you have fallen victim to some of the online rumors.

A bit too high-brow for you, eh? It only got one of the highest ratings of any video game in history, but that's not enough to convert a knuckle dragging cretin like you, right?

 

No! Why do singleplayer games these days insist on having a multiplayer element?! cod4 multiplayer - crap, Crysis multiplayer - crap, Far Cry 2 multiplayer - crap. Unless you're designing the whole game around multiplayer don't bother: TF2 - awesome, L4D - awesome, Battlefield 2 - awesome, Quake 3 - awesome. Is it just me thats seeing a pattern here?

well, I doubt they'll nail the multiplayer right...

Thing is, Bioshock wasn't designed with multiplayer in mind... at all. That's why it was such an amazing and immersive experience (at least the first run). 2k just wants to milk the (now) franchise as much as they can. This sequel comes packed with a lot of stuff that YOU THE FANS requested!!! I still can remember in a lot of the forums people bashing the first Bioshock just because the lack of multiplayer and co-op. Well, now you'll get what you requested!!! Don't know why, don't know how's gonna work but Sea of Dreams will have multiplayer whether we like it or not

Hope that they don't ruin the experience for the rest of us that DID like the first game

Yeah, I can understand that.

It became the best when I got together with a group of mates and just pwned every server on the 360. Best 12 hours of my life, I even forgot to eat...

 

shame, i was really pleased when i found out the first didn't have it. so you can bet in the sequel it'll feel tacked on :/

i'd love to be proven wrong though.

 

IMO all games with a single player campaign these days should offer co-op.
