All I'm saying is BioShock is a good FPS, I didn't view it as revolutionary either. But why is that a bad thing? All developers make claims on how revolutionary their game is, it's just PR crap and should be viewed as nothing more.

well just read carefully my post (the longer one ;p) i don't know if i wrote it wright i mean english is not my native language and it's not that easy expressing yourself in other language . ;]

    Simply put it :

Is Bioshock revolutionary ? = NO
Is Bioshock a good game = your choice ;]
Has Bioshock good story line = yes ;] anyway your choice

I wouldn't focus on games being revolutionary anymore. There isn't much left to really do.

Besides, I'm really hoping that UT3, Crysis, and Halo 3 are good, because after Bioshock, I'm worried.

i wouldn't worry about them, but Halo 3 ;] ? i wouldn't bet on this game. Halo 2 was very disappointing.

I would. Most ppl play halo for the multiplayer, and since it's pretty much going to more of the same, there aren't many worries about it. The singleplayer, who cares.

Crysis so far, just looks like every other FPS. The suit and weapons have upgrades and what not, but I hope that isn't similar to the plasmids in Bioshock. Did anyone else just feel way to powerful in Bioshock? I wouldn't want the same to happen with Crysis, get some upgrades, and there be no challenge. If I were going to use any game for a standard on how to make upgrades and pickups useful, I would choose the Metroid Prime series. At least in that game, the items felt like they had a use, unlike most of the plasmids. Once again, I only found the electricity plasmid useful.

UT3 is the same for halo 3's multiplayer. You pretty much know what your getting. They've been doing it for years, and they know how to do it well.

I'm quite looking forward to Halo 3 actually, was very disappointed by the second's campaign, but from the beta and some of the videos I've watched, I think it will deliver this time.

As for how easy the game is, on Normal at least (not played it on anything else), it's pretty easy. At the start it's harder since the big daddies are a lot tougher to beat, but now I've got all the research and a few cool tonics and stuff, they're pretty easy to kill, all it takes is a clip of SMG ammo and they die.

on PC, i simply get almost all headshots, so i rarely need to pick up the health kits i discover. (not sure about Xbox though, with less precision) so on PC, i'd say Normal is more of a Easy, where Hard is for normal.

electricity and fire or freeze are the must have. others are a bit of personal choice really. most a just for fun (eg, the camera thing, you'd take more damage from them than simply shoot them in the head)

Initially was really enjoying this game on the PC, but frankly it seems incredibly repetitive now I'm onto the third last level as indicated by the bathysphere lift. Aside from the decent story, it seems to be a case of killing the same enemies over and over and over... interspersed with knocking off the Little Sisters. I'd been expecting something with a little more depth (arf arf) than this offers, and little less mindless shooting/running/dying. The plasmids are cool, but don't really add a whole lot to the game, certainly not the sort of added dimension that say the nano abilities in Deus Ex do.

Unless there are some major surprises instore, those reviewers who dished out 10/10 for this must have been high. A solid 8.5/10 would be more realistic.

The best part of the game was near the beginning, where the lights went out, and you were forced to defend your small circle of safety.

The game needed more parts like that.

Seems to be a heavy 'use' of some of the ideas from Condemned too. Some of the areas seem to be very heavily influenced by it.

Was that game any good? I see they're making a second one, so the first must have done rather well.

Why do I think your talking utter crap? Maybe because I have played BioShock and know for a fact that headshots on some enemies don't do jack? Don't need health? lmao. You some kind of gaming God? Because everyone needs health, period.

Finally completed the game. I thought it was very good at the start but after that it starts to just be repetitive but then it all picks up at the end and it gets you stuck into the storyline.

my trusty upgraded pistol takes down most spicer with 1 headshot, using the right ammo of course.

health isn't useful as i hack all machines i see, and with the Hacker's Delight, it if you hack 3 machines, most of your health and Eve are restored anyway. of course, on PC, hacking is extremly easy, uncover all the tiles before it starts to flow, then as long as you can line up the first 3 tiles in the right direction, you have all the time in the world

It becomes a piece of piss to kill the goons when you get the crossbow. One shot kills.

Big Daddys are easy to kill when you get the electric bolts, make a layer of 5 or 6 in front and jobs a good'un

Ye once the crossbow is had then it gets easy. Still, some bits are pretty damn tough, even on the slightly easier PC version

Just played through it, saving all the lil' sisters, and honestly: it wasn't as good as I had hoped. Was too short (piked it up friday, and completed it about 4 hours ago, only playing for a few hours at a time due to a really bad toothache), and I found that it tried to help you a bit too much. Don't get me started on the horrific after-thought that was plasmid management. Plus I just lost interest in the story-line about half way through the game, opting instead to just shoot everything I came into contact with. Found that was more interesting than trying to listen to the badly garbled radio transmissions.

Ah well, another over-hyped, way expensive game to add to my finished pile.
