I hate it when some thing like that happens, when I first came on here I would do a massive update only to find out that the site had timed out on me...:wallbash::wallbash:

    Update 28/10/11

Back in workshop, back on Bis'! Today I managed to get everything I've done over the last week all welded together, there aren't any loose parts or joins now, it's just one lump of metal!
It gave me the chance to lift it in one piece for the first time to get a general idea of how heavy it is and to my surprise it's not as heavy as first feared! ...saying that I'm still yet to fill a computer with water so I can imagine that will change it quite dramatically lol!

I dropped a right clanger here, got home yesterday and was reflecting over what I had done when I realised I had forgotten to make an air inlet here for the hard drives! It's too tight for the jigsaw so Holes will have to do. :wallbash:

So out of a £200 case you got about a tenners worth left...lol

Edit: The tenners worth bolted to the new bits does look seriously good though.

Double edit: what happened to the nice shinny checker plate floor?

That makes sense, I've only ever cut up one brand new case though and that cost me £75. Other than that I always go 2nd hand, that said most of them have been in perfect condition when I got my hands on them.
Thats ok then, it's got the have a bit of the shiny...lol

:D That's how I got into it but mine ended up too embarrasing to show  some ok ideas but done really badly but was fun doing it :D & because I was doing crazy ideas to it must be what led me to do them from scratch :).

This is a "Behemoth" ! First mod huh :D even better. watched Waynio's from the start and it's the unpredictable little things, twists and turns. The idea bank overflowing that was such a blast to watch. I can imagine the gears are turning faster inside your head. Can't wait to see. and what's with this "nice, shinney chrome" tease ? :p

This is looking awesome. Great job welding and cleaning up the welds too. Sometimes that's a real pain.

Yeah sometimes it's been worrying when I've looked back on what I've done and questioned where the hell is this project going. The achilles heel is this first attempt at modding has been myself not sticking to the original objective and gullibly buying into hardware that is totally overkill which has been a financial nightmare. I like to think it would be nice if I can progress to the kinds of things you've been doing Wayne in the next year or so once I've got a couple more mods under my belt pal. It's all a learning curve. :)

Lol the gears are turning in the head but on the next mod hopefully I'll be doing all that off a drawing and sticking to it matey! :D
As for shinney tease, all I'm gonna say for a clue is that air will pass through it but it's not a rad grill! ;)

Cheers pal, yeah cleaning it up is defo a pain lol.

Lmao, yeah hindsight is a funny thing mate. :D

    Cheers pal ...10% 800D lol. :D

As an ex metal worker I know how difficult it is to weld and then grind the metal to perfect finish. This my friend, is pure heavy "metal" art!! Love it! Mod on! :)
