I've recently 'aquired' a Asetek VapoChill case, guessing an SE or PE or whatever, it has version 2.0 Controller Board & is a white/cream case... :naughty:

I've already tested the chillers performance by just running a power-on test with the green & black bridge in the ATX supply line, and it all powered up nicely, the temperature display was flashing when above 0C and then stopped flashing below that temp, then at -5.5C I could hear the switching relay click, so that seems to be coming on at the right time (I guess...)

Temperature then went to -35.5C and ice started to form on the copper cooling thingy which attaches to the CPU, so to me this was a good enough test to make sure it chills... so switched it off...

Couldnt pick up any leaks in the system either which was ace :D

    Now... the fun bit!

It came as a P4 mounted cooler block, it has P4 mounting brackets (well, 2 bars...) and heater (i think, like a wavy metal strip on a rubber peice with a red wire trailing from it) and thats about it, so I know I need to get a complete mounting kit for it & also that white paste (whatever it is called)

I want to fit this to my DFI LanParty board, with AMD Chip, which is currently under the process of being water-cooled, so was thinking of freezing the CPU & then watercooling the chipset & GPU (Radeon 9800)

So basically, where can I get an AMD Fitting Kit for this, and also what connects to what, as only 1 heater pad came with it, so I guess it goes to heater 1 connection on the chillcontroll PCB, but there is room for Heater 2 & also there are other connectors which I'm like... eh

    Cheers for any help!

Dialectic grease iirc. Are there no manuals etc available to download on the asetek website or forums?

Nice find, have fun and keep us posted. :thumb:

I got all the available manuals from the net, but unsure which goes for what as I cant even find any part numbers or ID numbers on the case :( but there are like v2.1, v2.2, vapochill classic, xe, se, pe, ls... too many manuals to print them all I need to ID exactly what I have before I print it!

BUT it looks like the VapoChill XE but in cream color, the radiator is mounted at the front of the case (upper part) with fan directly attached to the behind of it & also there is no fan, just one big-ass grill (well, square-cut grill) but I know the XE has a rear-mounted fan aswell, mine doesn't...

I have no pictures as yet, but I will try get some as soon as I can (I need new batteries in my camera & also im having problems syncing my p910i with my pc to get pictures from that too)

Ok I just found out its a VapoChill PE, as the Compressor is a R134a / BD50F...

these good then?? Read up the compressor volume is larger than the SE/Classic, but still a small motor...

Least I'm getting somewhere with identifying it!

Also read up, if its regassed with R404a, it can remove 100W at -30C, and at 0W it will reach -46C

    ooooooh baby :hip:

Dont waist your time bro..beside's if u have a AXP cpu with exposed die..u can forget it if u like that cpu,the evap mounting system is so bad that a LOT of axp guy's killed there cpu while trying to mount the evap (copper thingy that get's cold) Also id tell u to sell the vapo unit to some one else as a gpu cooler, save up $450 and have me build u a real vapo that can do 210W @ -50*c!

U dont need a chill controll to use that vapo, get some good closed cell foam, tube of cheap white thermal past to seal the socket, and some spare time,Problem is still crushing the cpu, that stock mounting system is verry bad, getting a cpu shim might help u some but i still know guy's that have broken there chip's go on over to my home stomping ground's http://xtremesystems.org/forums go to cooling/vapor/phazechange section and post there, way more help then this forum (not knocking this forum) but we deal with phazechange all day long in every form.also i can do the mod to 404a if u want.
