We have a problem. Power supply arrived, plugged everything in. and something is dead.

Booted with power, all fans spinning, CD drive active but monitor would no wake up. (flashing power led but did not say no signal)

Computer then rebooted it self, still no change to monitor.

Swopped out the graphics card for one of my old 8800's, Still no change.

Put original card back in, plugged power cable back in and my house electric alarm went off. (not good)

Computer will now not power up at all. tired 2 different kettle leads.
Im afraid the power supply my of just killed the motherboard.... or the motherboard was DOA.

I have no idea how to confirm this or what to do now.....

    Please help....

    Basic stuff to try.

    Check all cables.
Check everything is seated correctly particularly the RAM, CPU heatsink,
Remove everything like GPU (does the mobo have onboard? ) optical drive, bar one stick of RAM .

Are you saying that the on board GPU is not working?

there is none, on board with this motherboard comes from the CPU. G3220 does not have one.

Just tried putting GPU back in, and now powering up with graphics card in. Still nothing on the monitor
    WTF is going on...

The Pentium G3220 comes with on board Intel HD graphics.

Sometimes a BIOS can get confused about which display to use, I have seen motherboards get confused when detecting if a discrete card is plugged in.

Remove the 5770, reset the BIOS via the CMOS jumper (next to the battery) then plug in your monitor cable to the back of the motherboard and restart. Don't have anything else plugged into the m/b (HD or DVD etc).

Could it be the particular PCI socket the GPU is mounted in?

Is the pump on the H50 working? or is a fan attached to the CPU_FAN header? Could be if no RPM signal then the mobo kills the POST. Hows about the RAM? could you swap out a stick of your own to test?

If you can't see a display when booting with the 5770 installed, remove the 5770 and see what the settings are under "Chipset" and "System Agent Configuration" in the BIOS.
