    needs around 2 or 3 gigs of ram, cpu doesent matter it only really comes in at map changes.
    would also need a fat pipe.

    yeah, DO NOT try to run a server from your house. cable and dsl are not fast enough to handle it. you'll end up with a 300 latency server. it's best to rent from a reputable company.

    What about a public?

    I know good "game portal" which runs 5 CS:S servers, people playing at 2-3 of them, so 2 - 3 are usually free. They have possibility to lock with password, so there is no problem, I know admins so I can probably have a deal with them. Problem is if you want to play you must register, and the webpage is in Czech... But if you wont find suitable server tell me :thumb:

    arg sounds like fun but my source is screwed up and my new comp wont be ready in time :-/ all i have is 1.6.... will there be a 1.6 party anytime soon??
