Gun looks great Robo! KeyShot render looks sweet too. Seems there's lots of new toys coming out. Modo 501! Vray 2.0 (for 3DS Max), nice x-mas list
Vray 2 RT GPU dosent run on my 4870x2, ich checked opencl with benches and it works just fine, vray crashes with the message "failed to compile ocl kernel" any suggestions ? ( on fermi it runs fine as far as i could find out )
Hot Fix deal is for Maya... my bad Any way, I've got it running on Max 2011 Win7 32bit. No crashes just slow. Running Win on imac using parallels. So fixes for bugs being reported at other sites. Check your PM
I've been wondering what you've been up to! Looks great man.... have you been playing with the Ray 2.0? I've been play'n around with 3DS Max a bit but ..... LOST IN SPACE, LOL . Have you shown this to craigbru? he he he
haven't had much time to play around with vray 2.0, i tried vray RT for gpu though, works decently with my 5870, it isn't very powerfull though. i want a tesla now
Cute thing, bit hard on the dof there though i cant get rt gpu to run on my 4xxx series card but theres Maxwell Fire! aswell
hehe, thx. i don't think you can use vray rt with 4xxx cards, since they are based on the R700 ship which doesn't support OpenCL
Thanks LooseNeutral & Roboduck! Photoview is easy to use, very fast and pretty good. But not good as others. So I'm using Maxwell again. I've used it before but not an expert, not a good user either Here's a work without adding custom materials; I wanted to add some specific material to the ground, tried some wood options from MXM Gallery. But the result is unexpectedly ugly. Surface looks like some Win98 render, in a very bad quality. And advice on that? I wanted something like Metric's; http://forums.bit-tech.net/showpost.php?p=2237634&postcount=588
I think its jsut the scaling of the texture, u scaled it way to large... It does support ocl but unfortunately not the extended feature set vray uses... which is E-BIF, FFT and BLAS3 Its quiet unfortunate actually because my 4870x2 is really fast enough for every game out there and even the newest single gpus beat it by just a small margin
I looked at Max 2.5 and told myself not to go there yet....Stay....Away....From....the Light ! I've got enough on my hands with AR3 for now and just started play'n with VRay. Really want something better than Sketchup atm. Looking at ViaCad or Solidworks. Hope the learning curve isn't too overly steep.
First i would have to know what Program u use... For max the modifier is called uvw map, u can adjust textures there, in other programs is called differently but it works quiet similar. Just a quick tp: google "texture size tut *programm name*" and ull find it by urself.
I'm using Maxwell, tried some tips from offical website but didn't worked. I change the material to another wood or stone etc. but still the same bad quality pixelling http://think.maxwellrender.com/displacement-215.html&lang=0
For maxwell u can adjust it in maxwell studio, but i mean the MAIN program, the one u drew in, usually u manipulate the textures there...
Question about exporting from SU to autocad 2011.. I have been having some troubles with some models I have found on 3d warehouse and I would really like to use them as reference (such as mobos, rads, pumps, fans), that i really don't want to spend hours modeling so I have been exporting the them form SU to DWG. to use in Autocad 2011 but the things is the file are EXTREMELY harsh on my PC, I mean HORRIBLE panning and zooming in realistic or any other (non-wireframe view)... The thing is I am so frustrated because of it since I have done autocad file of similar or more complexity than those files and the PC does not behave in that way... I have been exporting only the faces (in SU export options) but still the files are horrible to work with... To give you an idea of whit I am working whit: 950 i7 OC to 4.2ghz on H2O 12GB 1800mhz DDR3 gskills GTX 570 stock sabertooth mobo single 1tb HD I have actually made copy of a rad on autocad with native tools from the programs and it works smoothly... I am fried I can't seriously arrive to a solution by my self, please i would really like to know if theres a way I cant export SketchUP files in a way that can be use in autocad 2011 please... 3Dwarehpuse is such a great tool that I really want to take advantage of since it can save me soo much time modeling things that someone already did and are willing to share....
