Ok, I am sorry folks, but I am absolutely sick of trying to get SketchUp and Vray to play nice. These are the last 2 renders. From now on I am sticking to Solidworks and Maxwell. In case you are wondering the HDRI worked fairly well, but everything I tried, the actual HDR never showed in the background. Oh well. These are comparison shots next to a TJ07. The first pic shows my design with the itx motherboard tray, there are 12 itx mainboards, and 2 800w 24vdc PSU's supplying the pico-PSU's for each board, 2x8port 1gb Ethernet switches are packed in the middle as well. Each mainboard has a Koolance waterblock mounted, and there are 4 CPU's on each cooling loop. There are 2x300ml reservoirs on this side. Below the mainboard tray you can see 2 of my configurable drive bays housing 20 SSD's and a pair of fan controls in between mounted using my 3way adjustable brackets. The second pic shows the 3 Phobya 560 radiators (4x140) and the reservoir for the 3rd loop. Behind them are 3 dual ddc setups. There are a few other pics in my photo book, but I won't be adding anything in the next week or two while I build mainboards/pumps/psu/etc in solidworks.
Very nice renders and the case looks huge! Another play with render settings Nah, I took part in a speedmodel competition.
Thanks tangster, yes the case is -large-, sorry about the venting - I just got fed up with SU/Vray. The skull is awesome, what is that media? polymer?
Hey Tangster, ? 'bout the speedmodel competition . What app did you use for the skull - Zbrush - Mudbox???
Cinema 4D polymodelling+hypernurbs (turbosmooth in MAX) I haven't gotten used to ZBrush yet, I might buy a tablet, since sculpting with a mouse doesn't feel right.
Otay! and your speed modeling with C4D! I got to ask how long it took you. I really love C4D but am stretching my wits thin mess'n with Max too atm lol. currently watching fxphd tuts on 4D and some others for max. Any good tut links you could share would be great! Thanks for reply
The challenge was 2hours for modelling and 15 mins for renders. I took 1hr 30 for the model and 30mins to setup the render and 15 mins to get a decent result with tweaking. I'm entirely self taught after getting my first copy of Cinema 4D from a member of my old 6th form's IT dept 2years ago. I did sign up to C4Dcafe though and I'm a semi-active member on the CGtalk Cinema4D forum. The only tutorial I would say is needed is 3DKiwi's Bodypaint DVD if you want to get into custom non-procedural textures. Good luck EDIT: I have some tutorials/resources in my Deviantart
Looks good Dark. More... loop it, fly it around the other side.... it'll only take pffft... how long to render hehehe
realflow 170,000 particles (26 hours to calculate on 16 threads at 3.7ghz) used physx plugin on 3dsmax for sim.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjZdVVgAD3A will be faster next time got some new toys... (learning krakatoa and thinking particles now) http://hwbot.org/community/submission/2130729_cronicash_wprime_1024m_2x_xeon_x5667_1min_32sec_705ms
good to hear from you croni. heard there was another nasty quake down there. I don't see the tube here but the link is there. I'll have to go take a peek at it... Kraka and TP are awesome toys too
Nice stuff dark, it looks like a purification plant though. Holy...that's a sweet couple of toys there coni.
