To be fair to Vettel he was doomed either way on that as Martin Brundle said, the rear was locking up so he had to try an slow in a straight line, then the car wasn't slowing enough so it was a case or spin an beach or try a love tap on the barrier. You could see he was visibly angry for a change.
Yes he did, But I believe from what i remember and the conversations I have had with others about this, Kimi got a penalty in Baku if i recall, and in the track info there was a note saying categorically that you are not allowed to move from the pit lane entrance over the line back onto the circuit. There wasnt such a rule at this track, But as the stewards notes say there was no risk to other drivers due to the safety car and such. Going forward I expect to see a re-working of the rules to make sure anyone who does this going forward gets a reprimand
I think with the issues of time penalties the last few races they highlighted the fact that the steward was an ex driver. It almost hinted at common sense being applied over strict letter of the law. Might have backfired or they might of been light on Lewis after the Raikkonen incident. Who knows. Strolls papa has possibly bought FI
Williams returns to midfield was the spin I would go for. Guess they are the masters of it this season
What a shame. They'd done so well to pull themselves into 4th last year, a great driver pairing, now they're just going to become a plaything for a spoilt pair of eyebrows.
Formula Eyebrows dream team: Driver 1: Pastor Maldonado Driver 2: Lance Stroll Reserve driver: Esteban Gutiérrez Don't know who would be team principle, though - maybe Flav??
Williams announces Rober Kubica as 2019 race driver, Williams aanounces new sponsors for 2019, Force India does an impression of a Catachan Barking Toad and explodes in self defence, leaving Silverstone quite devoid of life. I feel bad for Williams, I really do, but the family have a history of making the worst business decisions possible.
Lewis Hamilton posts to Instagram accusing ex-drivers on Sky Sports of 'undermining' him He's such a whiny little moo, he seriously does everything in his power to make himself unlikeable. And why is he so goddy goddy all of a sudden? Bahh.
He's always been a whiner - I do rate him as a driver, but I don't give a damn about his flaky personality or his fleeting yet frequent persecution complexes. He's pushing the god angle because he wants to make it big in America after he retires from F1. It's de rigueur to bandy about your religiosity if you're in the public eye over there.
There was a patch in his battle with rosberg where wasn't such a moaning mildred and I started to like him, but now he's king of the castle again he's regressed back to his toy throwing antics. I swear there are times brundle is going to jizz his pants. He won the race largely thanks to a good strategy and a big chunk of blind luck. Don't think he performed an on track overtake of either ferrari (when running), bottas or max?
To be fair he put some cracking laps in when it started to rain whilst others slowed, spun and even went off.
Unlike Vettel he didn't put it in the barrier. I donno but to me that make him a better drive on the day. Yea he got lucky, but he had to put himself in a position to convert that luck into something and not slide into a barrier in well worn tires that he was matching the pace of the front runners with their new tires on. You could also say that he was unlucky in Austria to get absolutely nothing never mind being screwed by his team and what about that love tap at Silverstone? Did Vettel get lucky there? Is it luck that Vettel has the best car and his rival was taken out? Ferrari could of pitted Raikkonen but didn't until the following lap. It's not his fault they made a dumb call, Hamilton and Bottas still had to drive well due to the conditions, but to keep ahead of a faster car and a very good driver. TBH it was a race of greats. Many drivers performed above and beyond in the conditions. Vettel was excellent and was caught out, it's unfortunate that the circuit punished him severely for it but that is racing. I don't think one driver did a poor job, most where screwed by team calls more than anything
