So it turns out that his busted shoulder was actually cancer, then when they tried to remove the cancer he a had a massive stroke on the operating table. I know this sounds horrible, but at least it was quick. Not sure that will be much comfort to his Mrs and kids.
Supposedly he was a major contributor one way or another for shaping everything was coming in the sport. His impact will be missed. Supposedly leclerc move to Ferrari could be in doubt and Gene Haas has said he has had meetings. It's possible this could affect the future of the Haas team
When does Vijay [finally] get arrested? Williams: Not even Hamilton could make our dog of a car go fast
Mallya said court action was instigated by Force India driver Sergio Perez unpaid wages? Silly if that's true, it's not like he'll be short a few bob and he just has to wait for them to be bought out to get his back-pay.
I wonder if rumours Ocons move was actually the first warning signs that the team isn't going to get saved? I also reckon the debt is much higher than everyone thinks and that is why noone has invested or bought the team. Investors are only life support and not likely to get a return especially with the current structure that has failed and buying the team it's probably a monumental uphill ask to stop the spiral. How deep are Papa Strolls pockets anyway?
Yea but I wonder how much of that is disposable or liquid to the point of not only buying but running an F1 team. An F1 team that has its struggles. It's an insane amount of money to bump your already spoilt brat a few places up the grid. Why not work out a better deal with Williams like main sponsor and throw more money at their problems
I actually think it would be cheaper to buy a team like Force India than endlessly pour money into Williams right now.
Could be, but I suspect it is more of a response to Bottas extending the Mercedes seat filler contract, meaning Ocon has to change his career plans and try to guess which mid field team will be best of the rest instead of waiting for a seat at the team that tutored him.
Apparently Perez was told by FI to start proceedings https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/amp/formula1/44994539
According to C4 it was BWT that encouraged Perez to take action... But the short version seems to be this is to force Malliya's hand into selling up [to Papa Stroll if those rumours are to be believe], partly because he was aking too much for the team and wouldn't budge. Even shorter version: Everyone wants Malliya gone.
To be fair, that paints Perez in a good light, hopefully El Papa del Strollo will swoop in like a righteous Canadian Beaver an save the day.
