Max was an optimist it he thought he could pull that off, his whole driving style is to make a move an hope the other person gets out the way, which is fair enough when it works, when it doesn't, own it and move on, Lewis is on new tyres right out of the pits, he's never going to pull in that tight, it's not Automan. That he didn't even check the driver he just drove over was OK was a bit grim regardless of what's gone on and further move my opinion of him lower.

I'm not surprised he got a penalty. He'd started the year with a level-headedness and seemed like he'd turned a corner, but he's backtracked back to his petulant self-righteous ways. It will cost him the championship. All he had to do was wait a couple of corners then take him round the curva grande, with Hamilton on cold tyres. There's parallels with the 2016 season, but with Hamilton on the other side this time.
