The weeks where Ted is off leading coverage on the W Series always disappoint me! F1 and Sky seem to really back Crofty given how much they plaster his voice in their media and adverts. (Always saying something trivial, of course - "IT'S UNBELIEVABLE!" etc etc.). I cannot stand him - would much rather go back to the MB/DC pairing of 2011, which delivered the very memorable line in the rain delay in Montreal: "David, did you know that racecar is racecar spelled backwards?"
Always like Kravitz, but even he's getting a bit weird lately - he just seems to over emphasize random words every now and then and I can't unnotice it. It's really frikkin triggering me.
Dam you. Will probably start noticing that now. There was one notebook back in the Bernie days where he talked about how he had a degree in politics, which was ideal for the world of F1 and all the politics that goes on in the background between the teams, FOM and FIA.
Lord Ted of the Pitlane as my mates like to call him - as a total car/racing-nerd I'd love to have Ted, Brundle, Chandhok (who has an amazing number of stats stashed away, and has since he was driving!) and DC doing all the commentary/analysis with no thought given to accessibility. Look on the bright side though, Crofty manages to be loads better than Legard. What a clown.
Quoting oneself, I'm sure it says something about me Anywho, live race now showing on up on Showcase but not C4 yet
There's a slight air of smugness about DC which is grates on me a bit. It's weird, I liked DC as a driver, don't like him as a commentator. Didn't like Rosberg as a driver, like him as a commentator. Go figure!?
In complete seriousness, if Max were to give it the big punt on Sunday I can see Masi and the FIA dreaming up an excuse to dock him 1 point and give the title to Hamilton. They'd get a mountain of sh#t flung at them for doing so, but no doubt would still prefer it to the championship being won by a ram.
If Max was to punt Hamilton off to win I would absolutely support the FIA docking him some points to take the title away... Settling a world championship with fines is crap for the sport, but not as bad as the dirty guy coming off best in the modern era. I think it would also taint Max for the rest of his career - Schumacher, Senna and Alonso are all tainted by their dirty tactics imho. They're still the greatest, but flawed. ETA: Not trying to turn this into Hamilton vs Verstappen - they're both incredible. BUT can anyone think of Hamilton engaging in the kind of Senna 1990, Schumacher 1997 type dirty driving?
Theres precedent for this already with 97 Schumacher. Hes was Disqualified from the championship standings for attempting to punt Villeneuve
Beaching himself in the process, iirc. He got away with doing it successfully against Hill, winning the WDC to boot.
Well, on street tracks that would be a wall and your suspension would be no more. You want your tyres in one piece? Stay on the track.
Spoiler: Quali results Big mistake from mercedes not giving Lewis a tow with that big a gap. Especially with Bottas off the pace. Here's hoping lando catches them off guard and slips through for the win.
