It's like he's trying to convince himself he's not bored off his tits. The AWS "X laps till overtake" thing reared its ugly head again too, seriously needs to **** off.

They all try to make it sound like F1 is interesting when I struggle to even be bothered to watch (dont think I've watched a race in over a year). The perfect example is when they all rave about monaco which is the most boring procession on the calendar and is just there for the pretty people to mooch about looking important.

Well, Jackie is an 83 year old man, so I think there's an inkling of a weeny but of a chance he's a bit racist. But to give him the benefit of the doubt, he's probably just a bit salty about Lewis' successes, like a disturbing number of ex-racers.

Why abound thinks someone should retire from a sport or profession they love and earn a massive salary/fanbase from is beyond me.

I'd call it a day if I was Lewis though, I don't think it would hurt to try something new full-time.

I would also say that he raced during the era where a driver died every other race. He also raced with arguably the greatest driver ever, Jim Clarke. I have always seen his comments as coming from that era where drivers balls won championships. I reckon its not so much racism as a generational thing as he dimishes current drivers to those of that "gentleman" era in terms of physical ability and bravery. A lot of his critism has been just after Hamilton moans about something and a response to the fact they all just got on with it.

Silverstone has remained a stubbornly dry race from my recent recollection - including the couple of times I attended. Sometimes rain before or after the race but rarely rain during the race.

According to the met office app, it'll be a wet quali but dry race.

The 3 I've been to (can't remember exact years) we had rain on the weekend but then dry during the actual race. There was an epic moment when Button got into Q3 in the dog of the McHonda due to a drying track. Crowd went nuts. (looks like it was 2014 - where did 8 years go! https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/b...-took-risks-to-qualify-third-5051251/5051251/)

That’s why I’ve only went to races held in Spain, can’t beat a holiday in the sun tied in with a race.
