    I agree with this 100%, would actually open up much mores discourse as well. I can't even stand to look at manifestos anymore because 90% of it is "under A we had these [completely exaggerated] problems"

    But, alas, a seat (with all its personal benefits) is an all or nothing thing, hence there's an incentive to present yourself as the only person competent at doing the job.
