BiT-Tech IRC You can find the Official BiT-Tech IRC Channel at: irc.uk.quakenet.org on channel '#bit' You'll need an IRC client to access this channel. We reccomend mIRC which is available here. Sadly, due to an increasing amount of trouble on #bit, we have had to add some fairly simple to follow rules. These rules are here for your benefit, We do not feel we are asking a lot of you. They will make your stay in #bit a more enjoyable experience. BiT-Tech IRC Rules Please speak english in the channel. Abuse towards other channel members will result in action being taken. Please no swearing, but if you must, please mask out the whole word, or alternatively use a milder word. e.g F*ck is not acceptable, **** is acceptable, but frowned upon. A more acceptable way around this is to use a milder word, or even not swear at all. Any kind of racism/sexism/nazism/homophobia is banned. No links to porn or warez of any degree are allowed. Check out the babe thread for acceptable rules on images. No offensive nick names or quit messages are permitted. Flooding the channel with pointless spam is also an offence. Please do not op or voice beg, chan op status is a privilledge for bit-tech staff and forum moderators. All auto text generating scripts other than away scripts and relevant system stat scripts are banned. Overuse of any script is a kickable offence. Away scripts should ONLY annouce departure and return. Single-line stat scripts are allowable, but must not be over-used Anything such as a channel takeover, malicious bot abuse, or anything as serious as this, will result in you being banned from the IRC channel permenantly, with immediate effect! Any of the above offences will result in action being taken against you. Standard Action: 10 minute ban whilst situation is resolved and discussed (dependant on how many ops are present at the time) upto possible extension of ban to 24hrs. Further offences will mean a permenant ban at the channel operators disgression Our decision on an incedent is final. All incedents are logged, recorded and reviewed by moderators and staff.
